OUTER PLASTIC JACKET REPAIR (CONT)

REPAIR

CAUTION

When removing damaged area of outer jacket, make sure you do not damage cable shield.

1. Using pocket knife, cut away damaged area (l).

2. Remove any dirt or burned material.

NOTE

Determine if shield has been damaged. If there are shield ends protruding from a

completely severed area, do not attempt to make a repair.

NOTE

Material for repair of outer plastic jacket should be the same material as that on the cable.

It should be available in your unit from an unrepairable section of cable. See your supply

section and tell them what you need.

3. Place a piece of plastic jacket material, slightly larger than the cutaway area (2), over

area to be repaired.
