Section II PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE CHECKS
AND SERVICES (PMCS)
GENERAL
To be sure that your cables will be able to support your mission, you must do
scheduled Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS).
Before you start your cable laying mission, do your (B) PMCS to make sure
your cables are ready to go.
After cables are picked up and returned, do your (A) PMCS. This will help
you keep your cables in top shape.
If the equipment fails to operate, refer to operator's troubleshooting in this
manual.
NOTE
All faults and corrective actions will be noted on DA Form 2404,
Equipment Inspection and Maintenance Worksheet (see below). The
item number recorded in column "a" of this form must correspond to
the item number in the PMCS chart on page 2-6. Refer to TM 38-750
for instruction on use of this form for preventive maintenance
services.
