GENERAL

After the arrester has been installed, testing of the arrester is done from the SIGNAL ENTRANCE box which is located

outside the shelter.

After the arrester has been installed, each communications system input line (circuit) is checked to insure that the arrester

will perform its function.

Normally each communication system will use 4 input lines (circuits). Therefore to check an arrester, 48 circuits within the

arrester will be checked for proper operation.
