c. Assessment Levels. Assessments of damage may be made in turn by operator/crew and assessors.
Extent and kind of damage is readily assessable.

Whether or not to repair the damage may be readily assessable. However, whether to

attempt repair and when and how to repair the damage may be judgement calls. No
procedure can take all possible situations into account. Assessment of whether the damage
needs to be repaired will be made by the Mission Commander as the equipment is evaluated
for further operation or recovery.
Assessment of where and how to repair the damage will be made with some suggestions by
(3)
crew/operator. Decision may be redirected or changed.
