2-1. Characteristics. DS2 is a light amber solution consisting of Diethylenetriamine (DETA) (70%), Sodium Hydroxide

(NaOH) (2%), and Ethylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether (EGME)(28%).

DS2 has a slightly sweet (ammonia-like) odor. It is a reactive highly alkaline substance with a National Fire Protection

Association (NFPA) code of 1 for reactivity.
